Common questions

A trail has wrong or outdated information

Route lines and core stats come from OpenStreetMap and open terrain data. Email us the trail link and what is wrong; we correct our copy and, where the source is wrong, fix it upstream so every map benefits.

Where are my saved trails in the app?

Favorites in the iOS app are stored on your device only, under the Saved tab. They work offline and are removed if you delete the app. No account is needed.

Why does the app ask for my location?

Only to show trails near you, and only after you tap the button that asks for it. The app works fully without it, and your location is never stored.

How do I get a route into my navigation app or watch?

Every trail page has a GPX export. On iOS, use the Share GPX button on a trail and send the file to your favourite app.

Can I use your photos or data elsewhere?

Photos are from Wikimedia Commons under the licence shown on each image. Route data is © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Respect those licences and you are fine.

Good to know

The iOS app needs no account and shows no advertising. How we handle data — on the site and in the app — is written down in plain language in our privacy policy. Where the trail data comes from is on the data sources page.
